Insights in Reading Scripture – Chase

For the new convert to Christianity, reading Scripture is a necessity to feed your faith. Since it is a large book, you cannot master its contents overnight. As you engage in repeated reading of Scripture, you will become aware of many connections between events and people scattered across its pages. One aspect you will learn is that some accounts seem to have more to them… more implications… more depth… more connections to other accounts in Scripture than you would have thought when you first opened the Bible.

Pastor Mitchell Chase has written a book to help you understand some aspects of these happy intersections. The literary terms for some of these connections are “typology” and “allegory”. Mitch had a conversation with the gents at The London Lyceum about his book, and about how these literary tools enrich our grasp of Bible accounts and people.
