Hello Friends,
Do you find yourself, Christian, down and discouraged at times? While God gives us a sure and certain hope, the fallen world we live in and the skirmishes we lose against temptation can and do discourage many of us. When Peter wrote his first letter to churches in the region of modern-day Turkey, he was acutely aware that they needed encouragement. He packs it densely, even from the very greeting which opens the letter.
Peter lifts our vision from our circumstances and fixes our focus on the coming King and his Kingdom. Consider Peter’s background and experiences in his walk of faith. He understands trouble, trial, and failure. The following sermon traces these themes. It is my prayer that you will find courage and encouragement in 1 Peter.
